Serious pastel vibes at Montreal's boutique atelier cafe Pastel Rita by Sean Berrigan

We had a chance to check out a well known boutique cafe/workshop in the Mile-End neighbourhood of Montreal. Pastel Rita is the headquarters for not only a restaurant/cafe but a super cool artisans’ workshops, and a boutique space where local designers can showcase their work. The space is curated very nicely with moody lighting and interesting products displayed all over the place, even where the dinning area is, which I found pretty cool to eat and drink alongside the items for sale. We made sure not to get too messy :)

Birthday Dinner at Blue Mussel Cafe on Prince Edward Island by Sean Berrigan

It was my 29th birthday last week and Vee decided to take me out. It was technically supposed to be a surprise, but since PEI is so small, this meant I sorta knew where we were going on the way or pretty much when we left. We had passed Blue Mussel Cafe a couple times on our photo adventures, but it was definitely our first time enjoying the vibes and good seafood.

The day was perfect but windy, the wait was long to be seated, but the beach was minutes away. We decided to sneak away to the beach to hang out and to medicate. Vee had rolled two joints so we just sat down and enjoyed the ocean and the sun.

We finally got seated and looked at the menu - it was so hard to pick! We settled on an ADL cheese & lobster dip which was mouth-watering and then we both had the halibut as mains, served with some Island potatoes of course. We ate and laughed while the sun was setting and it was quite the most perfect PEI night.

Sneaky Cheats Smoked-Out PEI Summer Launch BBQ by Sean Berrigan

One of my favourite communal foods is hands down southern BBQ. My buddy Spencer spent 8 months designing and welding this insane custom smoker for our day one homie and chef extraordinaire Nigel Thompson. Spencer and his fiancé Abby were nice enough to allow Nigel to throw a super dope summer BBQ party which featured the Sneaky Cheats smoker at their home in Charlottetown. Nigel and friends cooked up some mind blowing slow and low smoked pork, chicken, salmon and some mind melting steaks to fulfill everyones imbibing needs. Nigel topped off the night of drinking with a mouth watering (literally) smoked Bologna sandwich platter which was chopped up in to personal slices and disappeared in a whole 10-seconds (I think I got a bite of somebodys).  All in all there were plenty of incredible food, refreshing drinks, lots of wu-tang and some great friends made for a very warming PEI house party.
