A REAL "IRL" EXPERIENCE WITH PEI'S FIRST INSTAMEET by Sean Berrigan

HILL FLARE

On Sunday a group of 30+ Instagramers ascended upon a small hidden gem of a location within the eastern end of PEI called Mooney's Pond. For the first time, an event of this kind has taken place on PEI, taking inspiration from bigger city IG meetups like in Toronto, and New York. It's interesting how Instagram and social media has made it so easy to feel like you really know someone by what they share online. It's even more interesting when you get an opportunity to gather a community of like minded individuals together to network and get up to something creative. It was truly amazing to see such a great crowd of people show up and bare the cold and snow to trek through some awesome trails and fire of some flares and smoke grenades..for the gram along the way :)

Special thanks to The Morell River Management Co-op for allowing us to host the event there and to our friends at Receiver Coffee Co for hooking all the attendees up with free drip coffee for the hike.

The DIY In-Home Barbering Wave is here! by Sean Berrigan

In another hangout with my bud Jared, we had a couple boys over for a cut and a cup of drink. If you missed the last post, Jared's been inviting his good buds over for a good ol'fashioned hang but with twist. Jared has been working as a barber for over a year now and wanted to have a more intimate place to cut his friends hair and try new techniques that he normally wouldn't feel comfortable trying at Humble Barber in Charlottetown (the barbershop he cuts out of now). You can't hang out and have a beer and play your fav music at any barbershop around here so Jared wanted to offer a spot for his close friends where he could work at perfecting his craft while having a dope spot that friends could chill at with no rush or pressure to do anything. It's all about the vibes and the experience people!

This session featured our friend Nick Macdonald who works as co-owner and personal trainer at Kinetic Fitness here in Charlottetown. The second hooligan you see in the shots with the dashing long hair is Nigel Thompson who's owner and chef smoker extraordinaire behind Sneaky Cheats PEI, a craft catering service based on PEI. The last fella in for the cut is yours truly :)

Cape Tryon.. A location on PEI that doesn't feel like PEI. by Sean Berrigan

Every time we have gone to PEI, Vanessa has really bugged me about visiting nice spots around the Island. On our 6th trip to PEI, we decided to take a road trip at golden hour with two other talented photographers, my friend Jeremy Vessey and my younger brother Patrick Berrigan (links to their websites). We drove with the windows down and took the scenic route, stopping to take some photos of foxes, that just posed for us for 20 minutes. We didn't have a zoom lens, but Vanessa was able to get two feet away from these little babies and they seemed happy to be putting on a photoshoot. We got to Cape Tryon, cracked open some ciders and enjoyed the sunset. We took a lot of photos, got the drone up in the air and it was truly inspiring. I've been meaning to shoot more tourism stuff as I really believe telling stories will make people want to visit this beautiful Island. It's crazy to think that so many people go living without exploring what this beautiful place has to offer and I'm really proud to call it my hometown.
